Ok DH and started TTC in Aug. My history I have been on BC since I was 17 b/c I would skip AF for months at a clip. I was never diagnosed with PCOS. The stupid doc just told my parents that BC would correct my problem(I dont go to him anymore he stunk....)
I went to my GYN this past June. I was off BC since Dec prior and I got my AF every other month. I saw her in June just after I had AF. I missed AF in July and Aug. I went back to her in Sept. They ran tests and said everything seems normal..one hormone was a lil high. She prescribed Provera and Clomid. Ok now idiot me took the provera and clomid incorrectly. You take Provera for 5 days then on the 5th day of AF take clomid. Well I took clomid on day 5 of Provera.... So I basically bled out the mature egg.
Ok so I go back...I get a different doc in the practice who said why did she put u on clomid so fast? I told her about the few months of no AF and no O. She mentioned I may have PCOS....I was like whaaaat??? ok whatever....she prescribes me Provera Clomid...I take it right.....I def O...we BD & BD & BD and I get my AF....ok fine.....I call they prescribe me Clomid again.....and here I am in my 2WW I am sched to get AF this tues or wed and i am restraining myself from HPTing.
Here is my question....if this comes out to be a BFN and I get AF or dont get AF should I call a RE it is completely covered by my insurance and I would prob go see Dr. Braverman thru rec from friends we went through IVF.
Can you see a RE if you have PCOS? or can they test you for it?
I have been reading that you can only take clomid 12 times in your lifetime and it can thin your utereus to the point that you cannot carry....I want more than 1 kid and I am on rd 3 of clomid (unless the first F up doesn't work)
I just dont want to waste my time with this GYN. Time is precious!
Re: *Fixed*Should I see a RE? (PCOS)Long so sorry!
have you seen your dr. at all during this clomid cycle to find out if you responded and did or did not O?
first heres some for a BFP!
if you dont get AF/BFP i would def think about calling an RE (i absolutely dr. braverman - great choice!!). because you said you were told your hormone levels were off and you may have PCOS - its prob worth finding out what your levels are that way you can be treated specifically for your symptoms and not just clomid to O - since it doesnt necessarily work for every issue.
for me clomid did nothing and my protocol for high LH is completely different. i never would have known and would have wasted several cycles on clomid with my ob/gyn unmonitored - but instead i decided to be proactive (thanks to a lot of the women on this board) and see an RE. i am so glad i did because now i know the issues and have a plan and consistent monitoring to make sure its working.
there is no specific test for PCOS since PCOS is a range of different issues and different women have different combos of symptoms. what they will do on the first appointment is test your hormone levels (among other things like fasting glucose). from the results of the bloodwork and an ultra sound they diagnose PCOS. i do have PCOS but its not a very technical diagnoses - its more like i have high LH which is a symptom of PCOS.
feel free to FM me if you have any questions. and hopefully you will get a BFP this month and you wont even have to think about this post again
