spinoff to tv in the bedroom......
Who else needs the TV to fall asleep? Growing up I had a TV in my room and would leave it on the entire night! The silence just creeps me out and makes my mind wander and I start thinking about random stuff about my job ....etc.. and get anxious and ultimately can't sleep!
I can fall asleep without it if I'm very tired, but otherwise it relaxes me to fall asleep while watching some random show.....
Problem is, DH can't sleep with the TV on! So, ultimately I try my best to fall asleep without it on, but if I still can't fall asleep I end up putting it on and DH deals with it!
So I'm wondering, how do you ladies deal with this if you have this problem, or vice versa?

I can not fall asleep with it on unless I am exhausted.
If I hear any sound when I am trying to fall asleep, I focus on the sound and can not fall asleep. To get around this, I will usually turn on a fan (white noise never seems to keep me up).

I am the same and need the tv to fall asleep unless I am really exhausted. DH hates having a tv in our room, but gave in and let me have it. It does keep him up, but I try to keep it at a really low volume.

DH and I have the exact same problem - I need it and he can't stand it. I usually fall asleep pretty fast so DH will leave it on until he knows I'm asleep and then he turns it off and goes to sleep. He doesn't have to be at work until 11:30am so he can stay up an extra 20 minutes.

Re: spinoff to tv in the bedroom......
We are in the exact same situation. I need it to fall asleep, he can't sleep with it on. He wakes up at 5:30am, I wake up at 7am, so he wins. I usually watch TV downstairs, until im REALLY tired, and then go up, sometimes its just easier to go to bed earlier with him though. Compromise, compromise <sigh>

I need the TV to fall asleep. DH does not. It drives him insane. He even has tried to use the sleep timer but as soon as the TV shuts off I wake up and turn it back on.
