stubby went to the vet - updated
Tried the tuna in the carrier and she didn't fall for that one so finally we ran around the house and got her to let me pick her up and get her in the cage. She CRIED!!!! Meowed for the first time with a cry like no other and even Dh was upset.
Got her to the Feline Clinic in Farmingdale she was fine as long as we didn't leave her alone. We are getting her the whole checkup, shots, ear cleaning, nails trimmed, tests for aid/leukemia and checking if she is spayed and if not she is getting it done. As we were walking out - she HOWELD and cried and dh and i both kinda choked up and I cried driving to work.
I hope she doesn't hate us after this.
Update: Vet called she is perfectly healthy but overweight thanks to us (we are way overly feeding her) she was spayed already so we didn't have to deal with that but she is a bit sick from being put under to do the nails/cleaning/shots. Oh and we found out she is about 1 1/2 years old.

YAY!! I am glad you got her. Don't worry she'll forget in no time. She may be a little shy for a day or two but I promise she'll forget.

Awww- I know the feeling. Those cries are just awful and so hard to hear but you have to keep telling yourself it's only for their own good. They forget fast too. You did the right thing!
I know it stinks though... I cry everytime my cats go to the vet. Sob like a baby!

I'm glad you were able to get her to the vet!
I'm sure it felt traumatizing to you, but she will be just fine.

Nothing worse than hurting them to help them, is there? You did the right thing. I think she'll recover in no time from her ordeal.
Interesting that she's spayed already. That saves you a lot of time and $ too, I'm glad she's already spayed and not pregnant!
Looking forward to more updates and PICS of her!

That is great news that you got her to the vet.
Definitely be careful with how much you feed her because my cats that were rescued from the outside are all over eaters. I think because they are use to consuming alot because they don't know where their next meal is coming from.
You did such a good thing by rescuing her.

Re: stubby went to the vet - updated
she picked us so we are honored to have her as our pet. It makes me happy to have her since I haven't seen Dh ever get attached to anything so much as he has with her and he claims he isn't a cat person. And yes it is official after today - she has her collar on her and she ain't allowed to leave us LoL
Going to try to get another shot of her with her collar.
Thanks for the heads up on over eating. Dh forgot to ask how much to feed her and her weight etc. I am going to have to contact the vet to find out.

This is wonderful!!! You did such a wonderful thing. Sound like she reallly loves you!!!! So glad at the outcome!!!!
She wil do just fine after her visit...she won't hate you. She MAY hate the cat carrier (they get smart) but not you. So sweet your DH loves her that much now.
