Need to find a home for Buster.....UPDATE 1st post!!!!

so his owner isn't returning my calls......

Does anyone know of anyone who would want him? I don't want to bring him to a shelter but the Pug rescue won't take him.......

Any other suggestions? I've called everyone I know and posted on FB as well.......

Anything?

So we found someone - one of DH's friends took him. He and his girlfriend just bought a house down the road from us and absolutely fell in love with him. They both grew up with dogs and she's been begging for another. One look and the man was hooked

It works out nicely b/c he's still nice and close to us and since they just bought a house and my DH is over there working and helping out he gets to spend time with Buster as well.

They do lots of stuff and plan on bringing him - camping, vacations and lots of other stuff. Sounds like he'll have a nice life with the benefit of us close by if we need/want to see him. They come over for dinner often so they'll bring him. I'm sure my son and Cosmo can handle it for a few hours :)

So hopefully this is a happy ending :)

I will ask around. Is he house broken? Does he like other animals/children? How old? Any Health Issues?

He is not house broken - we're working on that. Some days are better than others. Puggles do have difficulty with potty training (so I've read).

He's great with kids - he's actually better with them than my lab!!!

He is about 4/5 months old......and no health issues that I know about. Previous owner got him from a breeder and she did get him his shots. I believe he may be due for another round of shots but I would have to check with the vet and see if the previous owner had his medical records.

did you try a small dog foster group? Maybe they can put up a courtesy posting on petfinder for you.

Do you have a picture of him? He sounds a lot like my pug Abbey when she was a puppy, that is just how they are and you have to have a lot of time & patience for them.

I'm going to ask my mother in law, hubby and some of my friends might be interested.

I see "courtesy posting" listings on Petfinder all the time with the information for the person to contact, not the shelter. See if a shelter near you can help out there, provide a lot of pictures, the cuter the better, and be completely up front about his challenges, but in a positive way.

I think it's terrible that this was supposed to be a trial for you and his original owners are not calling you back. Terrible.

Great news, sounds like they will work out. But I do hope they are well aware of his needs/issues and can keep up with him. I would hate to see him be rehomed again....but you did the best you could for sure.

AWESOME!!!!!! You deserve extra good karma for 2010. You worked soooooooo hard to do right by the boy and I'm thrilled it worked out! Crossing fingers and toes that this will be his forever home. It sounds promising since he'll be the only dog (meaning, the couple can give him a lot of attention and keep him off the tables hehe)
