Daisy injured herself again.....[Updated 12/11]
And this time it was because she was running on the tile and slipped and ran into the leg of the table and she must have cracked her nail on her paw because I have never seen so much blood in my life.
I dealt with the bleeding and called the animal hospital in Selden last night. They advised to treat the bleeding with corn starch and if that doesn't work, then to bring her to the vet. The bleeding stopped and of course now she is limping.
She is mad at us because we won't play fetch with her right now until her paw is healed. How long does this normally take? This is the first time it's ever happened.
ETA: Daisy's paw started to bleed again tonight, so we're taking her to the vet tomorrow. Hopefully they'll be able to help with her broken nail tomorrow.
ETA: The Vet had to shave the hair off her paw to get a better look. He saw that she was bleeding in what I would describe is her cuticle area as well as one of the veins in her nail when her nail was clipped too short. So, she is on antibiotic and we have to soak her paw in badadine solution w/water for 5 minutes twice a day. If this treatment of drugs and soaking doesn't work, the last step is to sedate her and have the Vet check her over. She is a wiggle worm when she gets looked over by the Vet.
