Mom's - Can you help me??

I am a little clueless but was hoping i could get some help here. I am planning on bottlefeeding and not breast feeding. Can you tell me what bottles i should register for? Or is this something i wait to get until after they are born?

Should i get ones for when they are newborns and ones for when they are older??

Also, should i get a bottle warmer?? I saw them at the store and they seemed to be a good idea, but i want to make sure it's not some useless thing.

Thanks for any guidance you can provide me.

I only bottle fed and I used the Dr Browns. They are wonderful! I registered for the bottle warmer and used it in the beginning, but I started to use the microwave...but be careful with the microwave!!!

Re: Mom's - Can you help me??

same as above! LOVE dr browns...i didnt get any 4oz because truth is they dont use them for very long. I bought the 8 oz wide neck bottles, they allready come with the slow flow nipples. The bottle warmer we used i think twice lol In the middle of the night with a screaming baby .........takes too long! we use the microwave but actually just bought one of those water cooler things that has hot and cold water........GREAT buy this way i can add hot and cold and get it just the right temp, plus Im using the bottled water all in one shot! we bought th ecounter top one it was $50.00 at homedepot

Bottles are a hard thing to go buy because you don't know which ones your baby is going to like.

We use the playtex vent-aire and we have had no problems with them.

Dr. Brown's did not work for us but I know it they are great for many babies..

i know many people who use avent also..

Never used the bottle warmer or sterilizer. my opinion waste of money. good old soap and ater does the tick and then after a month I put everything in the dishwasher....

We use Dr. Browns. We got an infant set that had both 4 oz and 8 oz bottles which was perfect, because we had everything she needed in the house already. When we were ready to switch to 8 oz we had them already.
The set also comes with different size nipples.

I had registered for two different kinds.. Dr. Browns and Avent. The Avent seemed to work better for us, so I wound up returning the other bottles.

We did breast and bottle. Loved the Dr. Browns and used the bottle warmer only in the beginning.

Re: Mom's - Can you help me??

I used Dr. Brown's and Advent in the beginning. When my son started having spit up problems we used Dr Brown's exclusively. Now we use both again bc he doesn't have issues anymore.

The bottle warmer we used had a cooling compartment. I liked having the convenience of bringing up two bottles for night feedings and not having to go downstairs to the kitchen. We used RTF in the beginning so it had to be kept cool. If I used powder in the beginning then I would never have used a bottle warmer. Now we use powder and I just bring up a bottle with water for his first morning feeding.

I was given a bunch of avent bottles in the 4 oz and the 8 oz size. I bought new nipples fo them and was planning on breast feeding exclusively. That didn't work as planned and I pump and formula feed. One son was spitting up all the time and the Dr suggested I switch to Dr Brown's. I was amazed how after one bottle the spitting up had lessened. We still kept my other son on avent and finally after 5 moths we switched him to wideneck Dr Brown's. I didnt' realize they had wide neck and I didn't want to have the same bottles since they were on different formula. The Dr Browns worked great and my other sign who was spitting up too stopped all together.

I did the same thing and wound up the opposite...Dr Brown's are amazing and I really feel that Bella had less gas issues because of it...the 4 oz bottles were great for the first 3-4 months, then we switched to the wide-neck 8 oz bottle because the long 8 oz ones were way to cumbersome...

We had the Avent Steam Sterilizer and Bottle Warmer that fit the bottle and still use both occasionally (we used RELIGIOUSLY for the first 5-6 months)...the warmer more...I love my warmer...we use ready to feed formula, so the formula is in the fridge after the first use and it needs a minute of heating up before she gets it sometimes...

I"ve only used the avent bottles. I have found using powder formula is the easiest in therms of not having to heat it up. We bought a bottle warmer (actually 2- one for upstairs and one for downstairs) and found it took soooo long to heat up a bottle. Now we use the powder formula and room temp. water to make the bottles on the spot. SO much easier- especially at the 3am feedings!
