How many eggs did you transfer?

We went to the dr yesterday to sign and go through all the consent forms. He comes to the part to start talking about how many and goes through a whole shpeel that only 1-2 are recommended but he really thinks that we should only do 1.

I think this is going to be one of those weeks. It's been really rough week in general especially with starting to stim and everything else. I think i'm thinking too much since i know my tension is ridiculously high right now which is NOT a good thing. I'm actually looking forward to acupuncture tonight and hoping i feel a little better afterwards.

Maybe i'm too far ahead of myself since obviously I don't know how many eggs will even be there and fert but obviously I want the best chances. I'm leaning towards doing two but curious about everyone else.

OK now i feel better LOL.

We transferred two. I take my beta test next week! I am 33 and our issue is male factor. We are TTC our first.

we did 2 and have a single pregnancy. First round of IVF. There are several girls from this board who are pregnant with 2 after transfering 2 though.

For our fresh cycle, we transferred 2 blasts and BFN.

For our first FET we transferred 3 blasts and BFN.

For our second FET we transferred 3 blasts and got our BFP with twins but later lost one.

2 blasts bfn, 3 blasts bfn, 4 blasts bfp, 5 embryos bfp

ETA: egg/embryo quality issue (only 4 of the 9 eggs retreived were fertilized with ICSI).

1st cycle 2 -BFN
2nd cycle 4- BFP but lost due to ectopic or chemical will never know which
issue is chromosome translocation on my part.

I am transferring only 1 tomorrow (I only have one to transfer, but even if I had more, I would only be transferring 1 at a time).

My RE has a "single embryo transfer program". If you agree to it, then any FET are included in the original price, no extra $$$.

They retrived 23 eggs from me. 13 fertilised and I transfered 4 which resulted in my triplets that were born July 31. That was my first IVF cycle and so happy it worked especially sicne I was told by RE there was only a 35% chance of even 1 taking bc of my age.... Good luck to you I wish you all the best

I just completed my first IVF and we transferred two and got a BFP! I go Thurs for my first sono, and hopefully they will be able to tell us if it's more than one! Listen to your heart, and the doc and go with that :)

Thanks everyone!!! I'm so torn on this. i think i'm just feeling a little down today. Maybe i can blame it on the meds.

I think their trying to push the single embryo transfer but i'm not aware of any 'special' programs. Part of me thinks that since this will probably be the only cycle insurance will cover, i want the most out of it. My heart is really saying to go with 2 even though the RE doesn't agree. It's probably too soon to say anything either way since as i mentioned, who knows how many embryo's i'll even have. Maybe i should wait and see before i make a decision. I guess i'm putting the cart before the horse

Both IVF cycles - 3 embryos on a day 3 transfer (I was also 37 at the time)

If it had been a 5 day transfer, it would have been 2 embryos

We did 3 IVF cycles (1 fresh/2 frozen) and transferred 2 each time.

I have 3 left, and will be transferring them all when the time comes.

I transferred 2. 1st IVF. I'm 33 and DH is 38. Unexplained IF. Preggo w/ twins.

U really have to do what u feel comfortable with. For me, my insurance only paid for IVF 1X so I wanted to increase my chances as much as possible.

Definitely a personal decision for you an your DH to make.

Hard to think about these types of things with everything else going on in your life.

1st IVF cycle due to Male factor. We transferred 2 blasts on day 5 and both took, currently preggo with twins.

Truthfully, you can't possibly make this decision now. You need to speak to your RE and your embryologist (or your RE needs to speak to them) after ER and then you can make a decision based on what you actually have.

I'm headed for a DE cycle in January. And I have this decision to make also. Because I'm doing a shared cycle means I wont get a lot of eggs and most likely a 3dt. AND I have a uterus issue and can only carry one at a time. Twins would be dangerous.

So, i did research last week on eSET.

Basically what they said is, if you have one outstanding embryo then go with eSET but if you don't then go for 2.

But, you also have to remember that on a 5dt you will be able to tell the good from the bad, where as on a 3dt its not as easy. Its a hard decision.

I think for me at the moment I'm thinking, I would do 2 on a 3dt and 1 blast on a 5dt. But, honestly I'm still scared of it not working with 1 and working so well with 2 that I have to do SR. And I'm not sure I have it in me to do that.

If you are OK with having twins, I'd put back 2.

1st IVF - 2 blastocyst and got pregnant with singleton.
2nd IVF - 2 embryos on 3dt = BFN
3rd IVF (FET) - doctor is recommending putting all 3 embryos left from fresh cycle back and I think we are going to.

Just wanted to add that I am 30 and our issues are MF and PCOS.

We put back 2 on 3dt, BFN, I have 5 frosties, for this FET we will be putting the best 2, if that still doesn't result in BFP I will be putting the remaining 3. If you are comfortable with 2 and the possiblitly of twins then I would go with your gut!

also wanted to add- the 2 blasts they put back on day 5 for me were the exact same quality and only one took- so it's even hard to tell with quality which ones will implant. I think your best chances are with 2.
