Upside Down Turkey?
When you cook a turkey, do you cook it upside down? For some reason, I remember someone saying that, and now I can't remember how i've done it. I've only cooked 2 turkeys my entire life .

Re: Upside Down Turkey?
In a V shaped roasting rack you can start the bird breast side down and then turn it. This is meant to protect the breast meat from overcooking - but I have to be honest in saying that it doesn't really make a material difference in my opinion. I think it is more habit for me. And now that I'm thinking of it.. I really don't think I've ever done it with a turkey.. only a chicken.

Re: Upside Down Turkey?
My mom NEVER did this because she cooked HUGE birds. I do this when cooking my chickens in the oven to give it an even skin to it.
