I have the smelliest little kitten!
So I posted a few weeks ago about my kitten having frequent gas, and on the advice I got here made an appointment for the vet the day I posted. I'm so glad I did because she had earmites, fleas and two types of worms in her system. The fleas and earmites are gone, and she took her last pill today for her intestinal parasites. She goes back in two weeks for another deworming. We thought the gas was worm related, but she is still very smelly! Not as bad as she was before, but I can't believe the gas that comes from such a small adorable kitten!
She is eating Purina Kitten Chow and we give her 1/3 of a small can of wet food at night. She wasn't eating the wet food much until now, so I know the wet food wasn't the cause. Can I change her food without it upsetting her stomach? Should I buy a different brand and switch day to day to get her used to it?
I'm new at this and I want to make sure I'm doing the best thing for her! Thanks!

Re: I have the smelliest little kitten!
I feed my kittens Kitten Chow and we never had an issue with gas but every cat is different so you can try changing the food. Just make sure it's a kitten formula- not too many of the regular brands come in kitten formula so you might have to try a premium brand like Eukanuba. When making the switch, do it slowly. Mix a little of the new food in with the old brand. The next day, mix a little more and so on until it's completely switched. Otherwise it could upset her stomach even more and make her even more smelly!
Good luck!

I am so glad you found out many of her issues and had them taken care of. I would give the belly another month to see if the gas smell gets better (related to worms, etc). I have had many kittens in my life and none of them ever smelled so I still think it's worm related.

If you want to switch her food, do it gradually. Mix a bit in with the old food, then a bit more the next day, etc etc. That's the best way to prevent upset.
Sounds like you are doing a great job!!!
