Puppies and food - is what i am feeding them ok?
I have two puppies (Shihtzu maltese, 8lbs, and Shihtzu poodle, 5.5 lbs), both are 6 months old. The are SUCH finicky eaters! i have been giving them dry food, but they usually turn their noses up at it after a few days.
I started them on Royal Canin Puppey food, then i gave them some Purina, then some organic food, then some adult "rotations" it's called (you rotate bags, one bag has chicken, other has lamb, other has salmon) so they get a variety.
What i have done now is mix a bunch of the different foods together bc they won't eat just one kind. Even then, they barely eat just the dry food. I started mixing the dry food with warm water so it's more of a meal for them.
Is it ok to mix the different dry foods? or should i keep them on teh same type of food for a few weeks and then switch?
thanks!

I think it is fine to do what you are doing mixing the foods. If they are not having a gastro problem with it, I would continue. By eating different foods they are getting different benefits from each one instead of only reaping the benefits from one brand. Especially if it is a high quality brand that isn't mass produced for supermarkets, Walmart, etc. Just my opinion, I am sure people will disagree. I also plan someday to go raw with my pup but he's a bit young now (although just about ready) but I am also a little lazy. It's a lot of work and costly as well. It might be a good option for you though if you have picky eaters too keep consistency.

I have a 9 lb Shorkie and when I first got her (She was 9 weeks), the breeder had her on Royal Canine as well. At her first vet appointment, my Vet recommended I change to Organic and ever since I have not had 1 problem when it comes to my dog eating. What I have done recently just to mix it up is a take a tablespoon of the Wellness Core wet food and mix it in with the dry food and she loves it.
Here is the organic food I get
