Anyone have a cranberry sauce recipe?

Every year, MIL serves it out of a can and this year I'd like to make one that's fresh and bring it over. Thanks!

I'm no help.

I am such a weirdo and I LOVE it out of a can! I know it's totally gross and aesthetically unappealing but I can't help it! Chat Icon

It is SO easy!! I love real cranberry sauce - cant eat the canned stuff at all!

You just need 1 bag of cranberries, I think they come in 1 pound bags. Rince off the berries, pour them into a big pot, add a few tbsp of water and let it simmer until the berries burst. You can add about 1/2 cup of sugar to make it sweeter if you like. Once the berries burst, continue to simmer and the sauce
will begin to thicken.

ed: you can keep it on the chunky side if you like (thats how I like it) or to smooth it out you can mash them with a potato masher once they burst.

I buy the Ocean Spray bag and there is a recipe right on there. I think like a cup of water and a cup of sugar. It's super easy and good.

This is really good!

Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
1 cup orange juice
1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries 1 cinnamon stick
4 cloves

Directions
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the orange juice. Stir in the cranberries, cloves and cinnamon and cook until cranberries start to pop (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat, transfer to a bowl and discard cinnamon stick and cloves. Cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.

Re: Anyone have a cranberry sauce recipe?

this is the one I make.

Cranberry Conserve
Ingredients:
1 pound fresh cranberries
1 cup water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 whole orange, seeds removed, chopped (about 1 cup)
1 cup peeled and chopped apple
1 cup peeled and chopped pear
1 cup golden raisins
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
3/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Preparation
In a medium heavy saucepan combine cranberries and water and cook until berries burst, about 10 minutes. Add all other ingredients except pecans and cook, stirring frequently, until mixture thickens, about 25 minutes. Add nuts, stir to combine, and allow to cool. Transfer to a nonreactive bowl or jar and refrigerate, covered, for up to 2 weeks. Conserve may also be frozen in plastic food storage bags for up to 1 year. Alternatively, you can process hot mixture in sterilized jars and keep in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
