I can't get this out of my head.
When I was waiting for Brutus at the vet's office - and hysterically crying in front of 20 people in the waiting room. . .lol. . .i noticed a man come in carrying a pit bull puppy. She had her ears clipped and was limping. The man said she had her ears clipped so that the other dogs in the house couldn't "catch" her ears, she had no collar, no leash. The friend filled out the forms and then left to go outside so when the lady asked the guy to verify the address he had NO IDEA what it was - it was very obviously a fake address.
So now, this precious little girl came to me and i was petting her and loving her and she peed all over my foot LOL its okay she was a puppy, what can you do?
The girl calls out "Sunshine Smith!" and the guy just sits there. Finally, his friend comes back in and when he hears the name he goes "that is the name that I put on there" and they go in.
The dog was obviously used for fighting which got me upset in the first place but I can't believe she didn't even have a NAME!!! I don't know why but that made me so sad. I wonder if the vet is going to do anything about it what is wrong with people?!?!?! She was so sweet.

Re: I can't get this out of my head.
OMG!!! can i tell you that we had a very simular experience!
when i took miller to the vet monday night, we were waiting to get his meds and pay & a woman came in with a pitt bull -- looked to be about 2-3 years old & his ears were clipped i felt so sad for him!! and i leaned over to DH and i was like, "i sure as hell hope that woman RESCUED him and isnt the one who clipped his ears for a dog fight"
and then it got me thinking -- are vets mandated reporters? like, if they think an animal is being abused are they mandated to call ASPCA??

that is exactly what i was thinking! i started questioning the guys - they were niec to me since the dog peed on me. But when they went into the room DH told me to be quiet since if they really did fight dogs he said they would have no problem punching him in the face LOL

I agree - you should call the vet's office and express your concerns. Clipped ears is not always a sign of a fighting dog - some people prefer the look - but yes, many dog fighters do clip.

right, when the woman asked him and he answered, i believed him BUT when added to the other clues - i am pretty sure that is what is going on.
You are all right, I really should call _ i was just so distracted with Brutus being sick. Thank you!

Oh my goodness how sad!!! I have a big mouth so I am not sure what I would've done!
I hope vets have to report it if they think a dog is being used for fighting!!!!
