i need feedback from braverman girls :)
iwill make this short.... i found a new ob who said he can take care of me... that he specializes in infertility and high risk.
i had made an appt with braverman and actually spoke to him on the phone ..was very nice. he suggested testing for antibodies for things ..cant remember lol
when i went to the new ob..... he didnt pooo poo braverman too much,,, he just felt he could handle this lh fsh thing and that if i go to braverman...i "might be in for an expensive time cause he goes ususally right for ivf"
is this true.? is braverman expensive? i dont have ivf coverage and only iui... are they like ivf pushers at braverman or will he look at other routes to go first?
realllllllllllllllly confused what to do.
was told by new ob that fsh of 12.9 could be a fluke...that we will retest, andtest progesterone,do dhs sa, and do an hsg.(i am 34) so i thought i was doing the right thing by holding off on braverman....
but some posters have suggested skipping ob and go right to re.
help confused dont know what to do? thoughts feedback etc is much appreicated!
xoxoxoxo ty!!!

Hi! I go to Dr. B, and he has never pushed IVF for me, but I don't know if it depends on the case. He suggested I start with IUI. As for the price, I haven't been anywhere else to compare, but he does offer packages. It's up to you who you want to use, and I'm sure you'll get results! Good luck!

Re: i need feedback from braverman girls :)
I also see dr. Braverman. He is actually my second RE. I switched to him after 2 failed IVFs and he actually made me do 3 IUIs before starting IVF again so he does not push IVF on anybody. He said he found other things wrong with me that the other RE did not find so he wanted to try IUIs again to see if it would work. I have high fsh as well. It has fluctuated from a 12 to a 6 but once you get a high number you are always treated as having high fsh. I think you should stick with him because he will do further testing and has more experience. Even though your fsh is not that high he will treat you accordingly so I dont think you should be scared to be seen by a RE. Good luck!!

Re: i need feedback from braverman girls :)
I don't see Dr. Braverman, but my experience has been that seeing an RE is really the way to go. My OB tried to help with my IF issues, and really didn't know as much as he originally seemed to. I don't think it is his fault, it's just not his specialty. So, if given the choice, I would def. go with an RE.
Good luck!!!!!

Definitely go to Braverman! I didn't feel pushed at all. He really listens to what you want to do as the patient (how many eggs to transfer, etc.). I felt way more in control with him than the other RE I used. Plus he got me pregnant!!!

My insurance only covers up until the point of a diagnosis, in my case, unexplained infertility. Afterwards, everything (visit, bloodwork, sonos, IUI, etc.) is out of pocket. The package includes all the things listed. As I mentioned, I can't compare prices, but it seemed to work out well.
HTH!
