You had a great race despite the injury and self doubt. You should be so proud of yourself!!! Enjoy the high, for me it lasts about 2 weeks. Enjoy the rest and sleeping in...you earned it.

Thx!!! I did not get to thank you for all your kind words in the other thread! It was such an amazing experience! The training was so hard but it was all worth it and I think I will do it again!

The training was really hard for me, esp because I started it in the summer (I hate running in the heat). I did about 5 months of training and did a long run every weekend and shorter runs during the week. My long runs started off at 8 miles and I increased mileage every week until I got to 18-20 miles. Like I said it got hard (the long runs) and it is so time consuming. Plus I got injured twice and got sick once so that set me back but I still did well in the end! I would definitely recommend trying a half marathon first and see how you like it and how your body holds up (injuries, etc). I did 4 half marathons before I felt ready for a full. I am so glad I did this and really had such a blast and am going to do another one (probably NY again!)
Also the fundraising wasnt so hard, I had a lot of generous people donate. Plus we have a matching gift program at my work so everyone who donated from my office was matched and that was a huge help and contributed to over $2000 of the fundraising!

Awesome job!!!! I can't even imagine how good it felt to cross that finish line. I love that you are smiling while running I suffer 5 mini heartattacks running 3 miles and I am NOT smiling. On top of finishing you raised so much money for charity I hope you are so proud of yourself you should be!!
