nsal....
did anyone have a good experience? ive been reading all these bad reviews on here. I have family that adopted dogs from there and had great experiences...but that was years ago. Are they that bad now? thats where we were going to go this weekend to adopt now im worried if im making the wrong choice

I don't know if it's a bad choice since I never adopted from there.
IMO if you find your kitty there, then that is all that matters.
Do you live near any Petcos? If you do, you should check them out first. They display cats from the Heart and Soul Animal Rescue group at all Petcos.
Sometimes they have tons of adorable kittens.
I had a great experience with that group and everytime i go to Petco I run right to the cages to see who is on display!

I haven't been there in awhile- but the Commack one had some and the Patchogue one had some a few weeks back.
They are constantly getting new cats and kittens in...

We have 2 dogs from NSAL.
I had no problem with the adoption process, and our first dog actually had his leg amputated there before he was up for adoption and we haven't seen any problem, he's a perfectly healthy dog at this point.
We had some issues with our new puppy, but not with the adoption process.
I have, and would still recommend adopting from them, we went to many shelters before adopting the second dog and ended up going back to NSAL because the other shelters were not friendly and helpful.
You might also want to check your local town shelter and save a life :)
