how did you decide which RE to see??
I want to make an appointment with an RE - problem is I don't know which one !! I have heard good things and bad things about many of them, and am really confused.
I know that everyone will recommend the RE that they had success with, and the same goes for not recommending the one that there was failure with.
DH has low morphology (1%) and I have cysts on my ovaries (although I haven't been diagnosed PCOS) I noticed the past few months that AF is lighter and shorter (thin lining ??)
I have been told that because of DH's morphology we'll probably have to go right to IVF. DH and I have talked about it and would like to only put back one embryo b/c of the chance of twins if we put back 2. Do RE's usually "push" for 2?
I'm debating between two RE's. Would it be worth it to make an appointment with both??
TIA for any advice you girls have !!

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
I would definitely make an appt with both.
I would also go onto the Sart website and check out stats for your diagnosis once you are diagnosed.

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
I made my first appointment with an RE based on recommendations, location and health insurance coverage. Before going, I decided that if I/we didn't like the dr, I would make an appointment for a consult with someone else and keep going until we found someone we did like.

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
I made my appt based primarily on their location and monitoring hours. I need to catch an early train so I needed a dr's office that was convenient for me.
I'd say make the 2 appts and see which seems like the better fit!
Good luck!

A friend had used mine. I personally liked him & his stats are GREAT. His office is also close by. I've spent lots of time in his office.

Ditto this. Also based on the recommendations of the wonderful ladies on this board.
Best of luck to you!

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
Thanks ladies !! I have one rec. from a close family friend for East Coast Fertility, and of course am looking at Dr. Braverman too because of all the wonderful stories I hear from LIF !!
I have searched & read almost every possible thing on LIF in regards to both and am still torn which one to make an appt. with first !!

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
You will be able to better make that decision based on actually meeting the two RE's. See who gives you a good feeling and if both then you are back to making a decision but I bet when you meet them you will easily be able to decide.
Best of luck to you!

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
i choose the one closest to my house because I knew I would be spending so much time there. Some weeks I've been there 3 times a week.

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
Our insurance company listed "Centers of Excellence", where everything is covered. We picked the one closest to home.

For meit was
#1- covered by insurance #2- their hours #3- proximity to my house and job #4- reviews on this board
My Dr doesn't get th best recs on this board, btu I needed an office that couild work around my crazy schedule. I would make an appt. with both and see who you connect with. Good Luck

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
I definitely would consider how close they are to your home. I am on my 2nd cycle seeing an RE and ive already been to the office at least 10x btwn appts and monitoring.

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
For my first IVF cycle, I chose one based on their stats, our meeting with the re, and location- it was 10 minutes away! But I didn't realize that I would never see my doctor or get the answers/discussions I really needed. The clinic had great numbers and has made many families complete, but the quality time with drs was highly lacking, and when my cycle started doing unexpected things the ball got dropped and no one really explained to us what happened or took responsibility for missing it. So, the next time we ended up at a clinic that still had great numbers, but one that was much smaller and farther away. It was a trade off to drive an hour each way, but we were so much more confident and comfortable with the process, and that makes a big difference.
Good luck!!!

Re: how did you decide which RE to see??
I went to highly rated one that was convenient for both me and DH- we only went to one place and it was the place for us- we were very impressed from the start.
