clomid question
This is my second month taking clomid. Im doing 50mg again. Last month I did clomid through my OBGYN and this month I am doing it through my RE. He wanted me to do 50mg again so he can see how I progress.
My question is... with each consecutive month you take clomid, does it "build" on the previous month and therefore you have a better chance or is it that once you take it, its done? By that I mean is it that each month is separate of itself?
I don't know if I am asking it right, or if my thought makes any sense... but I figured I throw it out there to you girls.
Thanks for all your help so far, Kate

Re: clomid question
I also started on 50mg, and depending on how well you respond ( as far as if you develop a good size follicle/s) is what determines generally what you will be on the following cycle...I ended up needing to go to 150mg ( however I did respond to 100, but RE bumped me up to get more aggressive after my IUI did not work)
So I guess to answer your question, each month is its own "thing" ..being on Clomid longer does not affect its effectiveness the next month ...Hope that makes sense and I didn't confuse you more !

Re: clomid question
That's a good question. Not really sure what the answer is but I do know that I had a lot of side effects 2 weeks after stopping clomid so it does stay in your system for a while.
I did 50 mg last month and am I taking 50 mg this month as well.

Re: clomid question
I don't know exactly how it works, but I know that my RE doesn't want me on clomid for too many months in a row because it effects the thickness of your lining, which could hurt implantation chances.
It's a good question for the DR!
