If you've had a survey done, please come in...
Due to a fence issue, we now need to have our property surveyed. Can you recommend who you used if you were happy with them (or tell me if you weren't!!)
Also, if you wouldn't mind sharing cost, I would appreciate it (I have NO idea how much it should be). Does it go by property size or is it a flat rate?

She was recommended to my by my architect. I was happy with her. I never really dealt with her, they came, did their measurements and left then sent me the paperwork.
I can't find my info on the cost right now...

You may be able to find out who did the most recent survey by calling around the survey companies in your town. We did this and got lucky and found the most recent survey and had it updated it was only a few hundred dollars.

The sellers on our house had to do one and it cost them $700, but I don't know who they used. I think that's about an average price.

If it's just the fence issue tell them you want a property line survey and call around - I think some of the pricing is on a whim. We basically were dealing with two companies on some recent issues - one was the company that did the original survey when the house was built in the 1970's. The other did the survey when we purchased the house in 2002. First we needed a property line survey when we added a half fence. One surveyor wanted $400 and the other came in at about half that. When we called both after some renovations because the town told us we needed a survey to close out the construction and get the CO, it was just the opposite - the cheaper one wanted a lot more that the other one that had come in so high before.
