Re: Douglaston
Douglaston is a great area! I dont know anything about renting there but I know the homes are very expensive but the taxes arent as bad as Nassau taxes so you get a break there.
Good luck!

Re: Douglaston
its a great area, but don't forget, you do have to pay NYC resident income taxes. So it does level off the property tax

awesome commute to NYC! My friend lived there and loved it. Parking was a PITA though. Can't remember which apt building she was in, but it was really nice.

Re: Douglaston
I've lived in a co-op in Douglaston for the last 2 1/2 years. We absolutely love it here. DH walks to the train so we only need 1 car. The area is great bc you can walk to some stores/restaurants, but it also has a residential feel. Let me know if you have any questions!

Re: Douglaston
I grew up in the town over, Little Neck. Definately an easy commute to the city, the LIRR runs right over Northern Blvd. The schools are one of the best in Queens. If you do plan on looking for a place in the Manor, it's georgeous in there, but very pricey! Any other questions, feel free to FM me.
