Re: Chili recipe?
I actually just made a big pot of it for dinner tonight. I have no recipe but can tell you what I do.
1 lb of ground beef or ground turkey 1/2 lb of sausage one big onion chopped
brown these together and then I added 1 big can of tomato sauce (29oz) and 2 (29 oz each) cans of diced tomatoes. I let this cook for awhile as I like my tomatoes to soften and reduce. When it has simmered a good 45 mins to an hour I will add 2 cans of pink kidney beans, tomato paste if I think it needs to be thickened and a package of chili seasonings. I bring to a boil and get everything good and hot.
You really could skip the cooking for an hour that is just what I do to get my tomatoes perfect for me!!

Re: Chili recipe?
Just made this- came out great:
1 tablespoon olive oil 1 small white onion chopped 3 cloves garlic 1 lb lean beef 2 chipotle chilis and a teaspoon of adobo sauce 1 1/2 tbsp tomato paste 1 can pink or kidney beans, rinsed 1 can fire roasted chopped tomatoes (muir glen brand- so delish) 1/2 bottle beer 1 teeny pinch cinnamon 1 tablespoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon spanish paprika
heat olive oil in dutch oven over medium-high heat- sautee onions & garlic for 5 minutes until translucent-season with salt & pepper.
Add tomato paste, chipotle chilies, and spices and cook over medium heat 2-3 minutes until spices darken.
Add beef and cook until no longer pink- about 5 minutes.
Add rest of ingredients (beans, beer, tomatoes) and simmer for 20 minutes.
I serve w/ cornbread.

Re: Chili recipe?
This chili is basic but tasty; add chopped green chile peppers or your own favorite chili seasonings. Cook Time: 30 minutes Ingredients: 1 pound lean ground beef 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained (about 1 1/2 to 2 cups cooked kidney beans) 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 1 teaspoon salt Preparation: Spray skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Brown ground beef with onion. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

Re: Chili recipe?
I found this when I was doing South Beach. We love it
"Wendy's" Chili
2 pounds ground beef, extra lean 29 ounces tomato sauce 29 ounces kidney beans, canned 29 ounces pinto beans, canned 1 cup onion -- diced 1/2 cup diced green chilies 1/2 cup celery -- diced 3 each tomatoes -- chopped 2 teaspoons cumin 3 teaspoons chili powder 2 teaspoons salt 2 cups water
Brown the meat and drain off the fat. Add all ingredients to a slow cooker and cook for 2 to 4 hours.
NOTES: I used 1 can of stewed tomatoes instead of fresh.
