Holbrook area
We are looking at a house in holbrook. As people might know, parts of holbrook are in the flight path to islip. This house is too, so planes fly over the development, pretty frequently. We stalked the neighborhood but it was not bad. Anyone have this too?

Actually we closed on our house a little over a month ago, we are in the direct flight path for Islip airport - We hear it if the windows are open, the flights are over early at night, but when we have the windows closed and the air on, we don't hear them.
After being here a month, I find that I don't even hear it that much when the windows are open... HTH

Re: Holbrook area
I grew up in Holbrook in New England VIllage, and now currently live with my in-laws off of Coates/Grundy. We can hear the planes, but honestly, its not that frequently. MacArthur does not have a ton of flights like JFK would, and after a while, you don't even notice it. We don't see the planes here, just hear them.

Re: Holbrook area
Hey Wen. As you know we live in Holbrook right near the airport. At our house the planes don't fly directly over, but a few blocks north. We obviosuly hear planes, but thankfully it's not a busy airport and planes don't fly in late at night. In the house you hear the planes softly, but it's never a disturbance. A plane just flew by as I am tying this, and after two years here, I barely even notice.

Re: Holbrook area
I'm not in Holbrook, but Farmingville and my house is in a flight path too, the planes fly low over here but I've gotten so used to it I don't even hear it anymore.

Re: Holbrook area
We live right by the airport and are in a major flight path (so much so that I've seen my house from two different flights )
It doesn't bother us anymore, sometimes if it is stormy we hear them a little more b/c the ceiling is low, but that's about it.
And Ithink it helped to make my DS an AWESOME sleeper b/c he can sleep through anything

Re: Holbrook area
Just to echo everyone else. We're in Ronkonkoma, and on a flight path. We barely notice the planes, and with DC, it's actually a plus because they like looking up and seeing the planes go by...
