I like Bellisimo too. I've heard really good things about teh steak house (Hudsons Grill?) on Merrick Road and Carmans Road in Massapequa. Sergios is always a big hit too. They also have the bbq place Smokin Als a bit more west in Mass. There is Ciao Baby on Sunrise too. Amityville is pretty small so there isn't too much there (although I'm sure I'm missing a ton).

Never been to Belissimo, but I agree w/ all of the above. Hudson's Mill is nice for a special dinner and it's very close to the Amityville border. A bit further down Merrick Rd. is Amici's (family style italian), Tai Show for Japanese and my favorite, Don Juan's for mexican.

I think Vittorios is actually in Amityville, on route 110.
ETA: you can usually also get cheap gift cerfiticates from Restaurant.com for Vittorios.

Re: Restaurant in Amityville area
totally 2nd Vittorios- very, very delicious... and right on broadway.
Also love Hudson's Mill which is on Montauk highway.
Of course, there are fun places in Babylon village- not to far from amityville (I live in amityville by the way):
The Argyle
The Carriage House (if it were my anny- I'd prob go here)
