Taking a break
My DH and I have been TTC another child. Our DD was an IUI success story. We both have IF issues and decided to try again. I'm in the 2WW from yet another IUI, and we aren't sure about continuing if this is not successful. Due to work demands and some personal commitments, next month is out. And we don't know if we are going to continue after that.
We go to a popular RE with a large practice, where I have seen my primary Dr twice in the past three months. I have rotated through most of the other Drs. When you take a break/ call it quits, do you tell the Dr? My beta is Friday and I probably wouldn't see another Dr until CD3, but I'm not planning on going this cycle. How do I "break up" with them?

Re: Taking a break
We are in similar situations in that we are also trying to conceive DC #2.
For me, I would tell my RE. I think that by now he and I have that kind of relationship when I can call him and let him know if I am done or if I need a break.
Good luck!!

Re: Taking a break
When I decided to take my break, I went in so they could take my blood for my Beta #..........they called that afternoon with yet another BFN (which I pretty much knew).
And that was it. Never called them or saw them again. They know patients need a break too and they know when you are ready, you will call them.
When or if you decide to start again, just call them on CD1 so they expect you in on CD 3.

Re: Taking a break
Just tell them what you wrote here.
They understand.
I'll need a break next month if this IUI doesn't take!

Re: Taking a break
I took breaks during my IF struggles and I just told the nurse in the office that I was taking a few months off. It's very common for women to take time off. IF is very draining and all consuming.
