Re: post your fave appetizer dip recipe!
In a food processor, combine:
1 block Philadelphia cream cheese
1 cup roasted red peppers (the antipasto type-in vinegar I believe)
1 packet hidden valley ranch powder
blend and serve with tortilla chips. YUM!

Re: post your fave appetizer dip recipe!
This is a little more work than an everyday Spinach dip, but its worth it!
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan 1 tablespoon butter 3 cloves garlic, chopped 1/2 onion, chopped 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves or 2 teaspoons dried 1/2 small red bell pepper, seeded and chopped 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/2 cup dry white wine 1 cup chicken or vegetable stock 1/2 cup half-and- half or heavy cream 1 can (15 ounces) artichoke hearts in water, drained and coarsely chopped 2 boxes, 10 ounces each, chopped spinach, defrosted and squeezed dry in kitchen towel 1 1/2 cups shredded Italian 4 cheese blend (provolone, Parmesan, mozzarella and Asiago) available in 10-ounce pouches on the dairy aisle of your market Salt and pepper 1 round loaf crusty bread: top removed and cubed, bottom hollowed out to use as serving bowl 1 loaf multigrain or whole wheat baguette, sliced at bakery/bread counter in market
Directions To a medium saucepot preheated over moderate heat, add about 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan in a slow stream. Add butter to oil. When butter melts, add garlic and onions to the pot. Sprinkle in thyme leaves. Saute 2 minutes, add chopped red pepper. Saute mixture a minute more. Sprinkle in flour, stir to coat vegetables. Cook flour 1 minute. Whisk in wine and reduce by half. Whisk in stock and thicken sauce 1 minute. Stir in half-and-half or cream. When sauce returns to a bubble, add artichokes, spinach and cheeses. Keep stirring until cheeses melt and sauce is well combined. Add salt and pepper and adjust seasonings, to your taste.
Pour dip into hollow bread bowl on serving platter and surround with sliced multi or whole grain bread for dipping. Reserve extra dip to warm and refill as necessary. Cut up bread bowl when baguette slices are gone -- the bowl is the best part as it absorbs juices from the dip.

I make this recipe frequently and it is really great! I leave out the red pepper though and add more artichoke hearts.

Crab dip
1 8oz cab of crab (you can find it with the tuna in the grocery store) 8 oz of softened cream cheese 1 tsp of Worscheshire (sp?) sauce 1 tsp of onion powder 1 tbsp of milk
Mix is all together, put it in the oven for about 10 mins or until the top is starting to brown at 350 degrees. Serve with crackers. It's soooo good! And very easy to make.

Re: post your fave appetizer dip recipe!
Paula Dean's Artichoke dip....thanks Diana1215 for introducing me (and many friends after who tasted it) to this DEEEElish recipe It's the never ending chain recipe! (but we leave out the hot sauce and wocestercshire sauce)
Ingredients 1 (8 ounces) block cream cheese, softened 1 cup mayonnaise 1 (14 ounces) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped 2 green onions, sliced thin 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 cup shredded mozzarella Dash hot sauce Dash Worcestershire sauce Salt and pepper Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with a hand held electric mixer until smooth. Then beat in the mayonnaise until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and stir together until combined. Transfer the dip to a pie plate or shallow gratin dish. Bake in a preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the dip is bubbling. Serve hot with crackers, tortilla chips, crostini or veggies.

I make something very similar But it's the mayo and you add a little green onion and parmesean cheese with the bacon. Mix that all up and stuff it into little cherry tomatoes. It's a pain, but sooo good.

I usually boil and shred 2 chicken breasts. 1 bar softened creamc heese 1 jar Marie's blue cheese dressing About 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup Frank's buffalo sauce (I eyeball it) As much shredded cheese as you want on top.

This is the recipe from my friend:
Melt 1 jar of Marie's Blue Cheese dressing and 1 block of cream cheese together in a sauce pan on med heat.
Run 2-3 cooked chicken breasts through the food processor and combine with 1 cup of Frank's Red Hot Wing Sauce.
Mix the cheese and chicken mix together in a bowl along with 1-2 cups of cheddar cheese.
Mix in some salt and pepper to taste.
Put in a microwaveable or oven-safe dish and heat through right before serving.
Served best with tortilla chips or carrots and celery.
For the chicken, I either boil it or microwave it. However you cook it, just don't let the skin get tough. The hot sauce takes over any boiled chicken flavor anyway.
