Can you paint laminate/ presssed wood?
I was given a dinig room table and china closet that does not match. It is pretty ugy. It appears to be like laminate or pressed wood - not real wood. I was thinking of painting it like an espresso - is this possible? Has anyone done it? Any pics? TIA

you can do it but I would recommend using an oil based paint. The fumes are super noxious so be careful. Also make sure to use a oil based primer first.
I am in the process of doing this with my fireplace (well DH is because I can't use oil based paint pregnant) I will post pics when we are officially done!

you need an awesome primer at it will work. go to the paint store or home depot/lowes and tell them what you are painting. they will give you the right primer, then you can use regular paint right over it.
