as far as the passport goes, you don't have to change it as long as you bring and show a copy of your marriage certificate (from what I understand).

Re: do you have to change your name on your passport???
When you travel internationally, you should book your tickets in the name on your passport -- be it your maiden name or your married name.
Immigration & Customs have no clue whether you are married or not, they go by what your name is on your passport, so if you don't change your name, and continue to book your tickets in your maiden name, there is no problem at all.
Now if you book a trip in your married name, and your passport is in your maiden name, you can come across an issue, even with your marriage certificate with you. Some airlines will not allow you on board unless the names match, and its not worth the risk and problems.
I haven't changed my name on my passport - and this November I'll be making my 3rd international trip since being married, and I made sure the tickets were issued in my maiden name. I don't want to bother changing it, until my passport is gonna expire, because if you do a name change, you have to pay a fee if its been a year or more since your passport was first issued, and then later you have to renew it anyway and pay another fee. Why bother paying two fees?!

Re: do you have to change your name on your passport???
Thanks for that info. On my last international trip I had to show id and my passport along with my ticket and all three had to have the same name on it. Now, I have changed my license to my married name (passport is still in maiden). I am assuming I will have to change it now, right?

Re: do you have to change your name on your passport???
I haven't changed it, but after I changed my name with the DMW, I kept the old driver's license with my maiden name for exactly this reason. I just use that as a second form of ID that matches my passport. If I didn't have that, I think I'd have to change it, since everything else (credit cards, etc.) are in my married name.

It's not very difficult to change. I had mine in less than a month. Just go to the post office and ask for the papers for a passport name change and then you fill it out and send it in with 2 passport photos along with your old one (which they send back to you).
