Montreal suggestions
DH and I are going to try to take a quick trip up to Montreal. Any things we must see, and fabulous restaurants that you suggest?

Re: Montreal suggestions
Hi! I'm a new kid here, LOL! My husband and I visit Montreal every year. It is a great city. Where are you staying? There are so many great restaurants there. On St. Laurent this is where the trendy, hip restaurants and clubs are. St. Denis starting from St. Catherine all the way to up to Mt. Royal is a lively area. Vieux Port (the Old Montreal) is charming with many boutique B&Bs and small gourmet restaurants and intimate bars with a very French flair where mostly French is spoken. Whereas, Crescent St. in Downtown has lots of American and Irish type pubs and more English speaking. Check out the Museum of Fine Arts on Sherbrooke (I think over by Crescent St.). Last time we were there they had the Catherine the Great exhibit. Also check out the Museum on the campus at McGill University (the name escapes me). If you want hotels recs just let me know!

Re: Montreal suggestions
Oh, a few other things I thought of. Definitely check out Notre Dame cathedral in Old Montreal. They used to have a light show in there at night, which is pretty cool, not sure if its still done. Take a horse and carriage ride around the area. Also, there is a small museum along the port about the history of Montreal, it was very interesting where there are some ruins in the lower part. Also along the port is a small pedestrian area where they are restaurants, shops and bars and usually a band or two. I can't remember the name of the street, I will ask my husband.

Re: Montreal suggestions
they have these lovely boat rides that take you along Montreal and provide Great photo ops. There is another place ( I forget) that has the very high white cross and provides the best view of Montreal. I forget the park's name but it is one of the highest points there
Also there is an excellent Greek restaurant in the old area
I am sorry I dont have specific names

Re: Montreal suggestions
If you like BBQ restaurants - try Bar-B-Barn. There are 2 locations in Montreal.
