Adding 1/2 bath...

We are looking at a house that has only 1 bath...Does anyone have any clue how much it would run to add 1/2 bath (basically toilet and sink)?

TIA

Re: Adding 1/2 bath...

it really depends on where your plumbing is. That is what costs the most $$....installing/moving the pipes!

Maybe larger rooms were split into smaller rooms or added on?

Because adding bedrooms is cheap. Adding bathrooms (plumbing) is expensive.

We have a very old house that only has one bathroom. We are in discussions with a contractor about adding a second (what they term 3/4 bath because it will have a shower) but we haven't got a price yet. I have guestimated at $15,000, based on what others have advised. I'm sure we will have to pay more, like everything else we have done to the houseChat Icon

In fact, our current bathroom was originally the kitchen and the toilet was outside, so the house wasn't built with a bathroomChat Icon

To put a full 5x7 bathroom in our basement go a quote for $17,000 and htats just with basic fixtures, nothing fancy!

All the plumbing work really adds up!
