ants, ants, ANTS EVERYWHERE!!!! help please!!!
this house (high ranch) has had an ant problem ever since my grandparents moved in when it was built in 1969.
now i own it and the problem isn't any better. they're EVERYWHERE!!! living room, kitchen, bedrooms, laundry room 
they come and go and will pop up somewhere new all the time. we've sprayed with chemicals, natural products, spikes in the ground inside and out, ant traps--pretty much you name it, we've tried it. a friend who also has a high ranch and the same problem called an exterminator and hundreds of dollars later still has ants.
anyone have any other ideas?? my house is very clean and food is not left out. all dry food is in tupperware. i just don't know what to do because as soon as we get rid of them in one room, we find them in another and it's been really bad with the weather we are having.

We used these granule things, just put them around the house and voila, they were gone. We have a hi-ranch too.

I used Max Force granules. Ordered them online. We paid almost 1k on the exterminator and they kept coming back.
I became the exterminator and took care of them...lol
I put the granules along the perimeter of the house as directed and it gets rid of them.

Are the carpender ants??? Usually Large black ants or the small ants that get in your sugar bowl? If they are carpender ants, You need an exterminator, no doubt about it. They ate an entire wall in my bathroom, there were large voids in the beams that were eaten away to the point the wall was giving way and the tiles were falling off. Do not let it go!

no, thank god they are the small annoying ants. if they were carpenter ants i would have been so freaked out and left my house long ago and never looked back!

we wound up having to get an exterminator...it worked though after 2 visits. he puts gel out that thhe ants eat and bring back to their hive and it kills them all.

we have the problem too and I just heard from few neighbors (who also have the problem) that Terro works REALLY well. I was told you can order from amazon.

ok i tried EVERY type of ant trap available. Then my friend recommended cleaning with Green Works spray - its the all natural spray from clorox. I just use it once a week when I do my cleaning and NO ANTS! It is hysterical! We spent so much money on traps, gels, sprays and this is the first thing that worked more than a day!

babypowder! i put it in a line around where they were coming in from and that stopped them, they wont cross it.

Ditto! in my house, these things drew all the ants to it, so don't get scared, you will see more ants, but then after a little while, they disappear. i guess they go back to their "homes" and die?

You can get Terro at Home Depot.
Its like liquid crack for ants, put it on ant trap and watch them flock to it.
You'll be tempted to pick up trap full of ants and throw it out but DON'T, let them take it back to nest!
