A story I'd like to share..hope it helps.

My brother knows a woman who, tried so hard to get pregnant for several years. After two failed IVF's, she finally got her wish 4 years ago. She was blessed with twins.

At age 39, she just found she is pregnant, without ANY help..I'm not sure of her Inf. issues exactly, but doctors told her she'd never get pregnant on her own..and here she is, today, with that, and being older, and shes pregnant!

However, I have to say this...(and I'm not trying to be a beyotch about anything, or start anything)

For me personally....while I love to hear stories like this, at the same time it's like the saying I heard over and over again..."when you least expect it, it will happen" or "when you stop trying it will happen" For MANY, MANY couples, this is NOT the case. Again, this is how I personally feel about stories like this. For us, I will and can NEVER get pregnant on my own. It's just not possible.

I understand where you're coming from Michelle. There is also ZERO chance Dh and I could get pregnant on our own....but I really think this is just an instance of someone trying to give us hope. She didnt mean any harm

i really love hearing these stories.. i know for myself it makes me feel good!

my DH's friend ended up adopting twins after finding out from her doc that she has zero % chance she can conceive natrually, and after going through years of treatments.. well needless to say, a ittle while after they adopted she got pregnant. it gave me chills.. what an amazing story!

It totally happens but a piece of me always thinks it's crap.

I got pregnant after one doc told me the changes are nil. My current RE never tried to discourage me but was realistic.

It ended in a MC but the fact remains is that it happened.

I was born 5 years after my parents adopted my brother.

They thought they couldn't have children after being married 9 years then 14 years after they were married I came along.

Something similiar happened to my boss...she had to do GIFT to have her son....2 years later she made an appt to go back to the IF specialist and found out she conceived on her own. Miracles can happen!

This actually happened to me. They told us we needed ivf to get pg. The cycle before my ivf we got pg with dd. Unfortunately we have been trying for #2 for 2 1/2 years. After 4 IUIs, 3 failed ivfs and a miscarriage we are still trying. Oh and I am still frequently told to relax and it will happen, stop trying and it will happen etc. So I defintitely see both sides. But miracles do happen. There is one running around my kitchen.

Amazing story.

My cousin had a similar story after spending close to 25k on ivf they were going to adopt a little boy from Ireland, They tried ivf one last time and they found out they were pregnant and had a beautiful little girl, and when she was 5 months old they found out they were pregnant again without any help and had another daughter.

It always gives me hope.

My best friends parents were told they would never have children after years of trying and doctor visits.

Devestated by the news they looked into adoption when suddently a teenage member of the extended family found herself pregnant so they adopted the baby.

Kid you not, they go to the hospital to see their adopted son being born and Laurie (bf's mom) faints.

Doctors run all kinds of tests to make sure it wasn't just from the excitement of the day and yep...she's pregnant.

Then Laurie is taking care of my friend after her birth and wondering when her period will ever return. Goes to doctor to make sure things are ok and yep...she's pregnant again.

After 3rd child arrives she has her tubes tied!

When she faints in the hospital b/c she is preg... reminds me of that scene from the movie Baby Mama
