Dr Copperman (RMA of NY)

Anyone have any feedback (good or bad) on Dr Alan Copperman? My OB knows him well and highly rec'd him so I have my first appt on 8/18 but I don't know much about him. I'm going for recurrent MCs and I hope he's thorough on this bc from what i've read on here not all REs are...

Re: Dr Copperman (RMA of NY)

I also had recurrent pregnancy losses and got PG through my 1st IVF with RMA. I used Dr Ruman but you see most of the Dr's there. However-I dealt with another Dr regarding my losses and immune issues and they worked together. For a thorough approach with one Dr I would recommend Dr Braverman-who is a vendor on here. he used to be with SIRM but now has his own practice on LI.

Thank you for responding bc it was you I had in mind who said something about only SIRM doing certain tests for recurrent MC (I forget what it was though). I would love to go to Dr B based on all the good feedback on this site but I work in the city (and live there until I move to LI in Sept) and I figured if there are frequent appts it would be difficult if my RE were on LI.

How long were you working with RMA? It is assuring to hear they figured out your issue.

Re: Dr Copperman (RMA of NY)

I was a patient of Dr. Flisser at RMA of NY and since I saw him in their Manhattan office, I saw all of the doctors there, including Dr. Copperman, many times.

I think Dr. Copperman is the director and/or owner of the practice

I was not being treated for recurrent loss, but was very happy with the treatment I received there and I am now 12 weeks pregnant.

I definitely recomend their practice.

Re: Dr Copperman (RMA of NY)

Dr. Cooperman is the top Fertility doctor in Manhattan. He's the Director of RMA NY. I go to RMA and see Dr. Grunfeld.

I've never met Dr. Cooperman, but have met all the other doctors and they are very knowledgable and have high success rates. The office is great- they get you in and out quick- I've yet to have to take any time off (except this afternoon for my transfer). The nurses, everyone is great and you always see a doctor when you go for monitoring. I def recommend them.

My friend switched from Cornell to Dr. Cooperman after 7 failed IUI's on got pregnant with Dr. Cooperman on the first IUI.

I'm very happy with all the doctors at RMA.

I get released from them in 2 weeks and I'm already sad about it

Re: Dr Copperman (RMA of NY)

My RE is Dr. Klein who is with RMA of NY - his main office is in White Plains but I went to the NY office many many many times. I got pg on my 3rd IVF attempt and am trying again for #2 - which will start next month.

I have seen all of the doctors at this practice and they are all pretty terrific. I only saw Dr. Copperman once and the one thing I have to say about him is that I didn't feel he was as friendly as the others - meaning no real bedside manner. That said the entire practice is great and he was ranked #1 in New York Magazine's best doctors. (I believe two others from this practice were in the top 10 as well).

Good Luck!

I just wanted to add that Dr. Braverman is opening up an office in Bayside Queens....if that helps.

Re: Dr Copperman (RMA of NY)

Dr. Copperman was my RA before I switched to Cornell with Dr. Davis. He does tend to be a little quick and less chatty, but so do most RE's unless you grab them and make them talk. I really liked him and only switched because after 3 IUI's and 2 IVF's we weren't getting anywhere and thought I should try something else before funds ran out. But, they have a great lab (even Dr. Davis said so when we consulted with him). And I tell you, if you have to do IVF, they have the timing down so you never have to wait before ER/ET. The only thing I can say negative about RMA is that they are not a research facility.

Did you look into SIRM, Dr. Tortorello (spell?)? I hear great things about him. They do all the immune testing etc... and they have a great lab too. They do all the testing that Braverman does and are in NYC. And up until this week did Bravermans ER/ET's. Might be worth consulting with.
