Excited to be moving along--- but too aggressive?
I just had my first appointment with my new RE. I had tons of blood work taken today and will have more taken next week at 7 dpo. DH will have a SA.
Once I get AF, we will do CD3 blood work, start clomid on CD3, HSG on CD9, and IUI a few days later.
I am excited to see things progressing quickly, however in the back of my mind its seems like too much happening all at once.
Girls who have BTDT, does this seem too aggressive for the first month with a new RE?

The tests your RE has run seem pretty routine and I wouldn't consider their approach aggressive in any way.
I went directly to injectibles and I didn't give it a second thought. I wanted to be as proactive as possible.
Good luck

Once you comit to it, everything moves along very fast. It does seem odd to me that you are starting clomid and then having the HSG. My doctor couldn't advise us on a plan until the HSG was in because that is one of the tests that is an indicator of whether to go through IUI or IVF. But that is just me and my doctor. I do not have a medical degree, so if your doctor has you on that plan he is the boss. Good luck!!!!!

this was actually my thought, i would think you should have teh HSG before the dr decides what plan of action to take but if thats how your dr wants to do things then trust that he is doing whats best for you

I agree. Having an HSG first would be the plan.
Maybe that's what's bothering you?

Exactly!
I did have all of these test done in the past, but 2-3 years ago. My RE feels that since these tests were all OK the first time around that they will all be OK again this time, and we are only repeating them to be on the cautious side. I guess I am just nervous about starting Clomid before having the cd3 results and HSG results, since he said we would only do 3 cycles on Clomid and then move on to injectables.

I think it's odd to repeat the test again. I'm not the doc, but it seems unnecessary. Have you had surgery or anything in your abdomen or pelvis?

I have 1 child. I am trying for my second. All the tests were done before baby #1.

Re: Excited to be moving along--- but too aggressive?
It's not too fast:
The way my RE described it: Clomid has very few side effects and is very cheap...so if your HSG comes out normal...you have a higher chance of getting pregnant that month and taking clomid will further increase you chances at minimal risk.
On the other hand, if your HSG is not normal... you've only wasted a few days of clomid therapy...cheap & without lg risks.

Re: Excited to be moving along--- but too aggressive?
I am basicly going the same route as you. DH semen anaysis came back abnormal. I was unable to get an appointment for the HSG last cycle cause they will only do it on certain days of your cycle. So we are going to move forward with clomid and IUI and have the HSG done and done once this cycle starts. So I am just waiting for Af.

Also Clomid has side effects so if you are nervous, please ask him/her about it before you go ahead.

Re: Excited to be moving along--- but too aggressive?
I say go for it! I just jumped right into everything today. I went for my 1st consult on Monday had a ton of bloods drawn, had more bloods drawn yesterday and out of the blue I got AF. So tomorrow, Day 3 I'm having a sono and bloods and will hopefully start Clomid for 5 days then injectible and IUI. I'm so nervous and I have no idea what to expect but I'm just happy that I sought help.
