OOT guests - Long Island Daytrips
My brother is visiting this week with his girlfriend. They've been here before and we've gone into the city, baseball games, broadway plays, walking around manhatten shopping etc... turns out she didn't have a very good time.
My bro asked me to come up with some things to do so I've suggested Fire Island, Vineyards etc. Any other ideas?
Also anyone know of parks that also have bike rentals available? That's something she mentioned she'd like to do.

Awww...I'm sorry she didn't like what you planned on their last visit
You're better than me...I would have told them to make their own plans this time around 
I was going to suggest Fire Island also.
What about Montauk or Port Jeff....

How about Camp Hero out in Montauk? They also have bike rentals in town. Then on the way home you could hit the wineries.
They also have bike rentals in NYC and you can bike Central Park.
And if she doesn't like what you choose, let her pick this way if she is unhappy she planned it herself.

What about a trip to the outlets, splish splash, the aquarium, touring manisions/gardens like Westbury Gardens or the Arboreum (sp???), day at the beach. Take the ferry to CT an go to Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods.
Can you brother help you out since he would know what she would enjoy more then you??

have them take the ferry to Block Island -- that seems to be something they'd like.
Also, go out to Claudio's for dinner/drinks in Greenport.
More info about her can help us offer more ideas. How old is she? What does she like? You asked about bikes -- does she like things that push her to be more physical?
BTW - your last itinerary sounded great to me! You're a good person
