Closing - REaltor present?

When we closed on our co-op, it was by owner. Does the realtor attend the closing? I'm assuming yes, but was just curious.

Thanks!

They usually want their check :)

although when I closed, my agent was there as the buyer but the seller's wasn't. I don't think its mandatory but I could be wrong.

one will definitely go, if the other realtor doesn't go they work it out amongst themselves.

Re: Closing - REaltor present?

Not mandatory as they're usually not present at the table - but they're there... they're hanging out in the hallway awaiting their commission check(s) Chat Icon

Re: Closing - REaltor present?

yes, not at the table as a pp said, but usually in the room- they want to make sure that they get paid on the deal- it has happened in the past that a lien or something came up and if the agents are not there, they will try and take it out of their commission- so all realtors are pretty much trained to be there to protect their interests
