What is the typical timinig of an IUI? Is there such a thing?
I go back to the doctor tomorrow, but I thought I'd ask you guys anyway!
We were going to do a medicated IUI this month - BUT DH is not available on CD17. When do they usually do it?
I hope I don't have to wait for September!!

I've done them anywhere from CD15-CD18 so it can vary.

Out of the 3 clinics I have used, only 1 did u/s to confirm ovulation.

Re: What is the typical timinig of an IUI? Is there such a thing?
I always went for a sonogram on day 11 or 12. The doc would measure the follicles and based on what he found, he would tell me when to come back. I also started OPKs the day or two BEFORE the sonogram in the event that I surged early (never happened). I continued OPKs until the designated IUI day in the event I surged beforehand. Some cycles I had IUIs before the surge. Sometimes, the follies were stubborn and I had 2 IUIs before the surge.
In the cycle in which I conceived Abby, I had 4 IUIs. Sono was on a Tuesday. I was told to come back on Wednesday for an IUI. IUI on Wednesday with no surge. Skipped Thursday. IUI Friday with my regular RE giving instructions to the weekend RE on call to give me a trigger shot if I hadn't surged. IUI on Saturday after a surge. I hadn't ovulated yet, so I came back on a Sunday for a fourth IUI.
Some may say that is excessive, but each time I got PG in 3/5 IUI cycles, I had multiple IUIs.
Good luck. Hope this helps.
