Going to Mexico - US $ or Pesos?
When we go to Mexico should I just bring and use US dollars, or exchange our money for pesos? If we should exchange, is it better to do that here or there? I plan to use credit cards for most purchases like souvenirs and spa services, but need money for tips and other very small purchases.

you don't need pesos in the tourist areas. they take dollars, and are very happy to take dollars

If going to Cancun or similar tourist spot, don't bother exchanging.
Although, if you go to an ATM while there, they quote you in pesos - so you feel very rich!!!

if you don't exchange try and bring SMALL bills with you...lots of $1s and $5s -- many times if you give them dollars and they need to give you change, they will want to give it back to you in pesos, since they want to keep as much American dollars as possible.

Good tip! Thanks! I think we're just using cash for tips and then a credit card for everything else since it's an all inclusive, so this works.
