DH and PIO
My DH asks me every day when he has to start giving me the PIO shots, he's sooo nervous! We have like a month until we will need to do them and he's freaking out! He's like it's going so fast, he's got to psych himself up for it, LOL.
He says he doesn't want to hurt me, I assure him he won't but he's not good around needles.
anyone else's DH this nervous, what did you do to calm him?

Re: DH and PIO
My DH was nervous so I had them draw a bullseye exactly where they want the shot done, just so he can't mess up. I also iced the area to make it numb for about 20 minutes so he knew he woudlnt' hurt me.

Same here. DH was SO nervous, but after the first one was done, he realized it wasn't so bad. In fact after a while I think he enjoyed stabbing me in the azz! I didn't ice the area quite as long, maybe 3-4 minutes, but I never felt a thing.

Re: DH and PIO
my DH was freaking out about it, too. After the first one went in without a hitch, he relaxed a lot. He even made the big dipper on the right side eventually. He's proud of his work Reassure him that it won't hurt you more than a teeny pinch.

Re: DH and PIO
My DH wont even do the PIO, he's so scared (I think more of me yelling at him that he's doing it wrong than anything else). I found a nurse to help me that lives nearby. She was a life saver and took a lot of stress off us. Of course 4 IVF's later and counting she had no idea what she was getting herself into.

Re: DH and PIO
I did them myself because I knew DH would have a hard time giving me the shot! Even though he said he would do it and I know that he would if I really needed him to, it definitely was easier for me to do them!!!

Ice, ice baby (sorry, I couldn't resist). Its the best thing for you both. You won't feel the shot and he will get less and less nervous about giving it to you.
My DH was actually saying "ready, I am" before I even had the stuff in the syringe this week. I wonder if he secretly loved doing it.
