What's your solution to stitches when you run?
I keep getting a stitch in the same spot on my stomach when I run.
How do you get rid of them?

try taking in more air- you might not be breathing enough.
I've also heard raising your arms helps. But for me if I take a few deep breathes, it usually goes away.

are you eating too soon before your run? that's really the only time I get them.
I have read what shiv says about breathing. You want to be belly breathing...fill your belly when breathing in and have your diapragm push the air out.

Try not to eat at least an hour before you go and stop drinking about 30 minutes before. Also, slow down (you don't have to walk) and blow air out your mouth hard a few times. I have found that the more I run, the less frequent they will become.

That's what my trainer at the gym told me to do. Exhale really hard, so much so that you kind of double over. Make a noise if you have to. It works, but if you're on the treadmill you sound kind of silly!

OMG funny you ask this, I have been getting them alot recently.
My sister works for an Athletic Trainer and says they are cramping from lack of water/dehydrations or from lack of potassium (I find this odd though bc I take vitamins, eat a banana every day and dirnk tons of water).
She says to massage them with your hand or press on it. Maybe even walk for a minute or stop and press on it while bending over. Sometimes this works for me and sometimes it just doesnt. ITs just odd if you ask me!
