Lupron vs no lupron?
I am starting my second IVF this month. Dr. Braverman started me on Lupron. However, with my first IVF, Dr. Brenner at LIIVF, did not include Lupron in the protocol.
Does anyone know what the justification is for using or not using Lupron?

I believe its for people who don't have REGULAR cycles. Like myself, I always was a little off each month so I did Lupron, then Menopur and Gonal F and BOOM...we had a PERFECT baby girl with our first IVF try !

I have probable endometriosis - so I think my RE used lupron for a couple of weeks to suppress it before starting our cycle.

Interesting....I have very regular cycles and I don't think I have endometriosis. Any other guesses why?

I don't know the justification behind it...But I will say that my 1st IVF cycle with no Lupron, I had pretty horrible quality embryos ( ironically I did end up pg. but it turned out chemical) ...
My 2nd IVF cycle, we added Lupron, my quality was amazing, ended up with hatching blasts and some to freeze and I got me DD

So for me, Lupron made a tremendous difference

Yeah, I think I read or heard somewhere that Lupron may improve the quality of the eggs, so that might be the reason...

From what I understand Lupron is a better suppresant that BCP's alone and because everything is so well suppressed, you end up with better quality eggs developing at the same rate.

Dr. B used Lupron with me to suppress my ovaries b/c I broke through the birth control pills. I also have Luteal Phase Defect and he said it would help with that as well.
