How long after I give birth....
will the swelling in my fingers and legs go down. Right now I have sausages where I had fingers and cankles where I had ankles. How long should i expect for the swelling to go down? Does the fact that I am having a c-section change any of this?

I would say after 2 weeks, plus they give you a lot of fluids so you are still swollen afterwards.

Took me about 3 weeks for most swelling to go down. It was 8 weeks pp that I finally got my rings on tho.

Make sure you are drinking water and moving a lot. I was fine 2 weeks post partum (c/s) with swelling. If it continues longer than 2-3 weeks call your doctor.

About 2 weeks. Definitely the key is moving around - I walked a lot!
I never was able to fit my rings on again. I will have to eventually have them resized once I am done having kids.

I was more swollen PP than I was preg... After about 2-3 weeks everything went down to size!

I think it took me a couple of weeks. My swelling was actually worse after I gave birth than when I was pregnant.

My fingers never swelled. My ankles were fine before I left the hospital (2 days).
I agree with the drinking the water & moving around advice. I think it helped me. I was the only one in the infant care class with my rings on.

I have to say the swelling never went away, just got worse pp for myself. Ended up being put on a diarretic for 1 week to help it go away. My rings are still tight, haven't been wearing them. Thinking of having them sized up a 1/2 size.
 Hang in there- for now, just keep them elevated!
