Favorite "Drug Store" Self Tanner?
I have a bridal shower this weekend and I was showing my mom what I intended to wear. She was kind enough to point out that I'm pale and need some color in my legs.
Any recommendations?
Has anybody tried St. Tropez Tinted Self-Tanning Mousse? (It seems to have decent reviews on MUA.)

Re: Favorite "Drug Store" Self Tanner?
I just tried Banana Boat- Summer Color...I find it works well, but just be careful around the knees and ankles. I use some light moisturizer first, let it soak in, then apply the tanner. This prevents streaks and buildup...

Skip the self-tanner and use Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs (available at any drugstore) - this stuff is AWESOME! It is great for a one night type of thing....it is water resistant (you would have to really scrub to get it off)...it looks like you put a pair of nude panty hose on....my mom and i have been trying everything and we finally found this...it is so great, try it..you will love it!

I have not used the St. Tropez mousse, but I have used the lotion and it works awesome. Bare Escentuals Faux Tan is similar, also works great, and smells a little better.

yup - i use it often. It's worth every penny! It's makeup - not a chemical self tanner.

Re: Favorite "Drug Store" Self Tanner?
Ok, so I bought the Sally Hansen spray tan and two different types of the L'Oreal Sublime (Glow Daily Mosturizer and Bronze Tinted Lotion). I'm going to start and use one of the L'Oreal ones tonight and use the Sally Hansen one Saturday morning.
Do you girls use the body lotion on your face or do you use one that's specifically for the face?

Jergens makes one for the face. I wouldn't put the body ones on my face- probably would make me break out. But be careful on the face. If you aren't perfectly exfoliated it can end up looking REALLY bad. I have large pores and it tends to sink right into them and make me look like I have large TANNED pores. Not a good look!

I don't like tanner on my face -- I would get a bronzer and brush that on instead.

Ok, it looks like the L'Oreal Sublime Bronzer is not for me. I look like an Oompa Loompa. It's not a pretty sight, but at least I can laugh at it. I'm hoping I can loofah some of this stuff off today and tomorrow.
I started out with the Sublime Glow the first day and I guess I should have stayed with it instead of switching to the bronzer. Damn me and my impatience!

Yeah the Sublime didn't work for me either. SOOOO orange and streaky. I find a wet wash cloth with some exfoliating scrub if you have any at home work well to scrub it off!

I like the Jergens Natural Glow Express in medium. You need 3-4 days of applications to get a good tan though.
I also recently discovered the Sally Hansen legs stuff and that works well too!

I read this while at the nail salon on Friday and started busting out laughing!! BUT I have to thank you for this suggestion because it worked!!! I looked like I was wearing orange sleeves with the way the tanner washed off my hands. I was able to blend it better with the Mr Clean Eraser.
Thanks for the advice!!!

I've been using the Jergens Natural Glow Express in medium for the past couple of days and that seems to give me a more natural tan. And it's not streaky like the L'oreal. I don't know if it's the way I applied the L'Oreal or if the Jergens just works better on my skin.
I've also been using the Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer for the face in medium and I'm really happy with the natural color it's giving me. Definitely a thumbs up for this! Plus it has a SPF of 20.
I haven't tried the Sally Hansen legs stuff yet.

I forgot what event it was right before, but i had an orange emergency. I scoured the internet and every said the only way to get that stuff off was the magic eraser.
I tried it on a hidden patch of skin first and didn't have a reaction, so I figured I'd be OK using it all over my orange.

I think it's because the Jergens is a moisturizer mixed with a tanner so it goes on SO much more naturally. The Sublime is a straight tanner and I find that you have to be SO much more careful with those...

Re: Favorite "Drug Store" Self Tanner?
I use the Loreal Sublime bronze GEL, it's harder to find but it's the only one I'll use. Put it on at night, let it dry and than the next morning you have a perfect tan (at least for me)! Start with the light version first to see how the color comes out and if you want more tan go to the medium-dark version. I am PALE PALE PALE and use the medium-dark version.
I agree though, the instant Bronze is way too orange and the lotion doesn't look right.
For face, I use Jergens bronzer for the face.
