dilemma about job and ER.. ???
So I have a dilemma and thought maybe some one could give me some insight? I'm on my 7th day of stimms and my RE told me this morning that I will probably have my ER mid next week which i'm very anxious/excited about. However today i got a call from the NYPD i've been trying for months to get into there but with the economy they have had all the classes cancelled for a long time now... Today they called and said we're hiring on the 15 of july you need to do your agitlity test to see if your in... umm thats TUESDAY can i do it? will it be bad to be physically active like tha right before my ER? I know if i get a bfp i' wont go in till after the baby anyway so should i just cancel and wait till next year? DH and I payed out of pocket for this IVF cycle so it's alot of money and i dont want to risk overexerting myself.

I don't think it would hurt if it's BEFORE the retrieval... if it ends up being after, I'd cancel.

If it's right before, you could twist your ovaries. I think you dr. would not recommend it.
My doc told me once I start stimming, I can't raise my heart rate above a certain level.

Re: dilemma about job and ER.. ???
Sorry you're having this dilemma... just one more thing to add to the stress.
Like some of the other women, my RE limited my physical activity once I started stims. And, I felt bed for about 2 week post ER.
Like you, I had a job interview come around my ER... I have been working with a company out of ATL and they wanted me to go down to finally meet the entire team in Fla right during my ER/ET week- OF COURSE!! I decided to email the person with whom I am working and kindly (and briefly) explain that I was scheduled for a medical procedure for IF, and how it's an exact procedure that it expertly timed, cannot be rescheduled, and requires bed rest.
I don't know much about public organizations, but perhaps because it' the NYPD, you might be able to schedule a separate time to do your test.
Again, I'm sorry about all of this- good luck!!

That is always the way it happens...I got hired for my job (civil service) 6 weeks before I had to go on bedrest.....after waiting 5 years!!
I would call your Dr. and double check before cancelling - if you don't have a ton of follies it may not be that big a deal. Then I would call them and ask if they are doing the agility test on another day and explain your situation. The great thing about the civil service jobs is that they are extremely accomodating - much more so that the professional business world.
