No heartbeat at 6 wk sonogram??
Anyone else have a sonogram at 6 weeks and see a fetal pole and the yolk sac but not a heartbeat? Went b/c of spotting and am now very worried.

She said it could be earlier than 6 weeks (although not sure how) or sign of an early miscarriage.

When did the DR. tell you to come back? I assume they want to monitor the situation. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Yes I know 2 people that had no heartbeat on a 6 week. They both had to go back to check for a heartbeat a few weeks later.

I know it can be. Just do your best to stay positive. It's possible that you weren't 6 weeks yet and that may be why they didn't see a heartbeat.

It can still be too early to see the heartbeat. Try to relax and remain calm (I know easier said than done). I pray everything is ok when you go back next week!!!

Its VERY coomon to see the yolk sac and fetal pole without a heartbeat in early pregnancy. Try to relax, in a week you should be seeing the heartbeat too

I had a sono at 5 weeks - no heartbeat. The Dr. said to come back in 2 weeks because we wouldn't her until then, and then at 7 weeks we heard it strong. Hang in there!

I am 6 weeks and I had a sono...no heartbeat but he said in about a week I will see the heartbeat

I had a sono at 5 weeks, 6days and had a heartbeat. They had said it probably started beating that day or the day before. Timing needs to be very accurate right now since things happen in a matter of days. I bet if you go back in another week you will see the flicker......Good Luck!

my thoughts and prayers are with you. Try and stay positive it really helps. I have been through so much with this pregnancy and the best thing to do is keep yourself busy over the next week. I know it's hard, but it will help.

When I went to the Dr. at 6 wks they couldn't see a heartbeat. I went back exactly a week later and saw a hearbeat at 7 wks.

I agree with this -- 6 weeks is sometimes a little early to see the hb. Or you might also have slightly miscalculated how far along you are and at this early stage, a week makes a huge difference in seeing a hb or not..

If you ovulated or implanted even 2-3 days later you might not be able to hear the heartbeat. YOu should request to go back in a week for another one.

when I went, the Dr. said I was 5w6d and there was no heartbeat. He said everything was fine. I go back in 2 weeks (a little over 4 weeks after the appointment). The Dr didn't seem concerned and he said that i will see the heartbeat next time I come.

I have also read that if you have a tilted uterus, this can prevent them seeing a heartbeat

I had this exactly, and I spotted from 6-8 weeks.
I was 6 wks 2 days, when I went back at 7 wks 2 days we saw the heartbeat blinking away!
