Bringing the SA to the lab
I was wondering, when the sample is created at home and you have to bring it to the lab, how do you transport it? What do you put it in?

Your DH will do his business in a sterile cup and it needs to get to the lab within an hour. It should also be kept body temperature on the way to the lab. HTH!

If I end up transporting b/c DH couldn't go, I put it in between "the girls" in my bra to keep it body temperature!

Dh had it in a sterile cup and put it in between his legs while driving and then put it in his jacket pocket until he got in to the building.

Call the lab and ask if u can pick up a cup ahead of time. That's what I did.

We always wrapped it in aluminum foil and stuck it in my bra between my boobs. There was a part of me that always wanted to get pulled over on those days.

We wrap the sterile cup in foil. Then, I put hot water in an insulated mug, then dump out the water. Step #3 is putting the foil-wrapped sterile cup in the pre-heated insulated mug.
We don't use the mug for anything else.

this is what i have done, honestly its not really cold out i wouldnt worry too much about it you dont want it exposed to extremes in temp,

DH would put the sterile cup in between his legs. He always dropped off the goods before I had the IUI.

DH put it in the cup, in a bag & on the seat of his car. He says he put the seat warmer on low...results came out normal, normal.

Funny story about that kind of thing.. in January I was on BCP to suppress my system and broke through with 2 eggs, we decided to to IUI, b/c it was a bust for an IVF cycle. I was driving to RSofNY Stonybrook on a very icy snowy Sunday morning, 7am-ish, DH had "produced" the sample at home but had to go to work. So I had it wrapped in foil between my boobs under my coat. Driving like Miss Daisy up Nicholls Road when an SUV skidded in front of me. Very gently I swerved around him, I was going so slow. All the time praying that I wouldn't get in an accident, become unconscious and have some cop or EMT find "the sample" stuffed in my bra while they tried to recusitate me. 
It would've made a great story for my kid if I had gotten pregnant from that cycle.
