Re: if you have driven to myrtle beach

We've stopped outside of Richmond and in Rocky Mount, NC.

My parents usually stay in Lumberton, NC (but, that's right at the border of SC).

about how many hours into the drive do you stop and how many more when you start up again?

For us - just outside of Richmond is about half way (a little bit over on the way down) so we're about 6 hrs down, 5 to go (I'm in Rockland County).

Rocky Mount is about 3 hrs from Myrtle Beach or so - it's closer.

Re: if you have driven to myrtle beach

You would think I would have an idea when we leftChat Icon Ummm I think it was around noonish... maybe 1. It took about 12 hours with the kids and stopping.

We left the next morning around 9. We took 40 to the coast then down 17. It was about 3/4 more hours by the time we got there. There is a new 2 laned highway that takes you off of 95 which was EMPTY compared to 95. We flew it was very nice!

We stayed in the Westin in Falls Church, VA. It's just outside DC and is gorgeous. And DH LOVED the buffet breakfast!
