Re: Has anyone tried
I tried acupuncture, but used someone in Oyster Bay (I live in Lindenhurst). I'm not sure if it did anything to help my IF; I didn't conceive in the months that I tried it, but it was a really relaxing experience.
My insurance didn't cover it and it cost $80 per session, so it got expensive in a hurry.
There isn't any harm in trying it if you can afford it.

Re: Has anyone tried
I did accupuncture for my 2nd IVF cycle. My insurance didn't cover it though and it was pretty expensive. I purchased a package with the accupuncturist that worked with my RE's office.
I live in NJ, so I can't help you out with a recommendation though.

Re: Has anyone tried
I used and currently use Andrea Huggler of LI Holistic...they advertise on here.
I was using her when I got my BFP.
I used to go to a woamn in Oyster Bay but got a BFN, so I switched. Not sure if it mattered, but Andrea takes my insurance and is much closer to me anyway.

I used LI Holistic with Andrea Huggler during IVF and got a BFP. My insurance did not cover it and it was expensive. I wrote it off as medical expenses on my taxes at the end of the year.

Re: Has anyone tried
I actually had gone to the acupuncture college in Mineola because my insurance didn't cover it and its $25 a visit. You should look into if there is a school out in Suffolk that does the same thing. They consult with a licensed acupuncturist before they do anything to you. They actually sit down with you for 5 minutes or so before each session and go over needs and stuff like that. It was pretty cool. They also gave me herbs to drink, which were gross!

Who knows? I got my DD on my 2nd IVF - but I can't say it was the acu that did it. I do know that it is very relaxing and I needed that during my cycle, time to slow down and relax...

Re: Has anyone tried
I used Andrea Huggler as well. She does take insurance, but my insurance wouldn't cover my treatments because she was not an MD.
I was going to her when I conceived my DD through my 1st IVF, but I'm not really sure if it helped or not. Like the OP said, it forced me to take time and relax. I always felt good afterwards.
I am going to be starting fertility treatments and would like to go back to her, but it is expensive, so I'm not sure if I'm going to or not.

Re: Has anyone tried
I see an acupuncturist in Huntington (by Walt Whitman Mall on 110) and it is covered by my insurance, ONLY because he's a licensed MD. My insurance wouldn't cover it otherwise. He doesn't specialize in fertility, but he helped my DH's sperm count & testosterone levels tremendously, and within 2 months my cycles went from 42-44 days down to 30-32 days. I will definitely continue to use him before/during IVF next month.
