We have a split and had the siding done in Dec 07. We got quotes between $8K - $12.5K. We went with the one that was $8500. Although the siding came out great in the end, I can't recommend the company bc I had a few issues that they had to fix.

We have a dormered cape. We went over the garage too.
We used All Side - $15K. It's pretty tall so we needed a lot of siding. I think had we shopped around we could have saved 2 or 3K.
No complaints at all about All Side. They did a really good job.
