Did you change rooms when you moved into your home?
Such as did the previous owners have rooms for different purposes?
I am asking - we are intending on changing the diningroom - such as putting up a wall and turning the room into a nursery/office.
We would also have 2 livingrooms, the upstairs livingroom would be turned into a formal diningroom with possibly a nice sitting area. I have my sketch pad out and I am putting up walls in certain areas and moving doors and taking down walls I am little overly excited!

Re: Did you change rooms when you moved into your home?
My friend lives in a Levitt house where one of the downstairs bedrooms was converted into a dining room. It looks great!
We only made some small changes at my house. We made both our den and our living room into informal rooms. I didn't want to have the formal "do not touch" room that my mom always had. One of our bedrooms is a home office/craft room. Our den could be a home office but I wanted the office upstairs.

We bought my inlaws house. The only difference we have is no "dining room". It was 2 rooms with a fake header between....no room. Header is down so now it looks like 1 big kitchen! Can't wait to renovate it!!
Good luck with your house!

oh yeah. We knocked down walls, moved walls, you name it!
My house has an upstairs sitting area (we have the computer there). I love it.

we made the family room into a dining room and the living room and dining room were combined to make a larger family room.

We converted the bedroom downstairs into a living room and then their living room became our dining room. It's your house you get to do whatever you want.

Yes, we made a downstairs bedroom into the dining room and we changed the layout of the upstairs a little to make a 1/2 bathroom.

We are in the process of changing an apartment on the back of the house to a master suite. The apt. bedroom will be my walk-in closet!

we've been doing nothing but making changes since we moved in...we changed what they used as the Master BR into our dining room (knocked down walls added french doors etc) and we are going to be dormering the top of an extension to add 2 more br's.

Yes - we turned a bedroom into a den, by knocking down one wall and putting in a doorway where the bedroom door was.
