Ok... painting is never going to get done!

My DH started painting the hallway, and won't finish. (He's not doing such a great job anyway) He won't take my opinion on how to do it, since he's a guy he just knows all! Chat Icon So now my hallway is halfway done and I really would like for it to be finished.

I have been scared to paint so I haven't. I didn't want to take any unnecessary chances with the baby. My doctor said it's safe. I also got the safest paint there is, and yet I'm still apprehensive about painting? Chat Icon The painting in my house is never going to get done unless I do it myself. It's VERY frustrating. Of course a couple months ago my parents kept insisting that they were going to come over and paint, but everytime I ask them, they have some kind of excuse why they can't. I even told them that this was going to happen. I would really like for everything to be painted soon, and it's a lot to paint. I'm just tired of depending on other people. I'm not used to that!

Do you REALLY think it's ok for me to paint??? I'm so scared that I'll hurt the baby!

Thanks!

I did not help my Dh paint, and we used BM latex paint. I would not chance it.
Trust in your DH. He will get it done before the baby gets here. I used to get upset over this too, but if I go out while he is painting I don't get upset. Stop nagging him and he will do it. This worked for me & my DH. When I nagged him he did not paint, it is just how he is. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I wish we could hire someone, but we just can't afford it. Chat Icon

You bought safe paint, your doctor said it is safe for you to do so, go ahead and paint Girl!! Be careful bending and stretching but go ahead and do it!! You'll feel so much better. I painted my spare room and the baby's room while PG. DH did help but I certainly was there every day right along with him. Especially since the weather is so nice now, open the windows, get some air and and do what you have to do. You're pregnant -- not sick. There's no reason for you not to do stuff as long as you take the proper precautions, and it sounds like you have.

Just know that you'll get tired quicker and need to take more rests, but enjoy it. I know I love painting. Especially the feeling of seeing it completed.
