IVF Timeline?

So IUI #3 was a bust. At least AF came tonight.....I knew it was coming soon. I am going to have an IVF consult in the next few days.

When/how does the process start? Is getting insurance pre-certification a nightmare? How long is the whole process?

Sorry for all the ?'s. I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself for what's coming (even though I know u really can't prepare yourself).

Sorry about the IUI not working.

I'm not sure about the pre-cert for the insurance as my RE's office took care of all insurance related stuff for me. My RE made me take off a month for me mentally prepare myself, plus I had been on Clomid for months and he wanted me to go med free for a month.

Once I started my IVF cycle, it was about 6 weeks from start to finish.

I am going through my first IVF cycle right now. My 5th and last IUI ended in a m/c. After I had my D&C and while I was waiting for AF to arrive, I decided that we wanted to move onto IVF.

In total, it is going to roughly be about 6 weeks from start to finish.

My RE's office also took care of all of the insurance precertification. I also had to take a class. If you look at my IVF diary post, you can get an idea of everything I needed to have done since the beginning.

I really hope it only takes one IVF for you to get your wish.
